There is usually a lot of excitement at an 18th birthday party and this should also be reflected in the speech you give. You can never go wrong with a short speech that is both inspiring and funny at an 18th birthday party.

Begin the speech by reflecting about the birthday girl’s or boy’s past. Include any funny story you have about their teenage years and embarrass them a bit. Make sure the stories are not about any sensitive subjects especially if there are any older guests present.
Thank the person for bringing joy into your life and praise them for the achievements they have had so far.  Make sure you let the person know just how special they are in your speech and thank the other guests for being part of the celebration.

The speech should always include what you think the future will hold for the person and offer them advice as they start the journey to adulthood. A toast to the person is always the best way to end the speech. When making the speech you can have some notes but avoid reading the whole of it. Maintain eye contact with the person and the other guests.
